Question: Will it interfere with lights that go on automatically when people walk up to it?
Answer: It should not, mine is a solar lamp, I put it on it, it will still light up at night

Question: Will this melt from the heat of the light bulb?
Answer: We use them on our outdoor light fixtures and they are awesome! No melting at all

Question: Is the strap adjustable ?
Answer: The strap is not adjustable. You could shorten it by doubling a small portion and sewing a few stitches into it. Mine fit perfectly and look great!
